Bellevue road rage suspect charged with hate crime

BELLEVUE, Wash. — A Renton man was charged with a hate crime on Wednesday after he allegedly used racial slurs and threatened to kill three victims following a road rage incident, according to police.

The suspect, 52-year-old Kelly Preston Bailey, has been charged with a hate crime and felony harassment in connection to the incident, according to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. His bail was set at $200,000.

The Bellevue Police Department (BPD) responded to reports Monday of a disturbance in the 3700 block of Factoria Boulevard Southeast just after 10 a.m. Officers arrived and found a 35-year-old woman and two 13-year-olds hiding inside a local business while the suspect stood outside holding a gun and allegedly used racial slurs…
