The driver of a BMW traveling over 100 mph attempted to flee from Washington State Patrol troopers, and ultimately, the driver ended up ditching the car and taking a swim before being apprehended.
According to Trooper Rick Johnson, at 8 p.m. April 26, a trooper attempted to stop a BMW near S. 317th Street in Federal Way. The vehicle was traveling at 103 mph, and according to Johnson, the vehicle took off from the trooper, and responding troopers did not pursue the vehicle. According to Johnson, after the BMW fled, WSP’s aviation unit, Smokey, began tracking the vehicle.
“However, unfortunately for the driver, Smokey was in the area and quickly located the vehicle still at a high rate of speed headed into Kent,” Johnson said. “Smokey tracked the vehicle out into east Auburn where it was spiked. The driver attempted to flee on foot, but was quickly apprehended.”…
