Tacoma Planning Commission Invites Public Input on Tideflats Future in Upcoming Hearings

The Tacoma Planning Commission is gearing up to hold a public hearing on June 4th regarding the future of the Tideflats region. The hearing will focus on the Tideflats Steering Committee Draft Subarea Plan, which encompasses potential changes to local zoning codes and the Shoreline Master Program. According to the City of Tacoma’s official announcement, the meeting will be accessible both in-person at the Tacoma Municipal Building Council Chambers and virtually through Zoom, providing community members multiple ways to engage with the planning process.

Going hand-in-hand with the hearing, an informational meeting is slated for May 28, at which those interested may glean insights about the subarea plan and the mechanics of providing feedback.
