Travelers could see miles-long backups for daytime lane reductions on southbound I-5 in Thurston County

Daytime travelers who don’t change their plans could see 7-mile backups on southbound Interstate 5 in Thurston County, a news release from the Washington State Department of Transportation states.

Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will reduce two-mile sections of southbound I-5 to one lane. Crews will fill gaps in the surface of the roadway and fix potholes.

I-5 will be reduced to one lane from 6 a.m. to noon, Monday, May 19, and Tuesday, May 20, near Maytown, as well as from 6 a.m. to noon, Monday, June 2, and Tuesday, June 3, near the Lewis County line…
