The anniversary of the eruption of Mount St Helens gives so many pause, recalling where they were that day, May 18, 1980.
“My first grade memory is that, day turned to night almost immediately,” Austin Jenkins told KOMO News, from his home in Olympia. Jenkins and his classmates were just about to wrap up a camping trip when the eruption started.
