SEATTLE — Newly-released video shows a police officer dodging gunfire from a domestic violence suspect who was running through a south Seattle park last month.
The June 20 shooting was one of two instances that day where Seattle police were shot at while responding to domestic violence calls. According to court filings, witnesses saw Robert Yares Lopez, 32, strangling a woman in the parking lot of the Pritchard Island Beach park around 6:30 a.m.
When an officer arrived at the scene, Lopez took off running into the woods and then fired three shots at a pursuing officer, according to police. The officer reported hearing at least six shots in total, but he was not hit by any of them, according to the charges…
