Early this morning, Seattle’s SODO district became the scene of a grim investigation after a man was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds. According to the SPD Blotter, patrol officers arrived at the intersection of 4th Avenue South and South Massachusetts Street around 6:05 a.m. in response to a report of a person bleeding on the ground; there they discovered the victim in a parking lot, his injuries pronounced fatal by the Seattle Fire Department upon their arrival.
The investigation is in its preliminary stages, and the authorities have yet to establish a clear motive or suspect in connection with the shooting as detectives of the SPD’s Homicide and Crime Scene Investigation Units process the scene, a sports car with notable damage from an apparent traffic crash was discovered at the same location, adding another layer of complexity to the case. The vehicle was empty and is said to be no longer drivable; its connection to the homicide, if any, remains unclear.
