PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — Tacoma police have arrested a child’s mother after her baby needed four doses of Narcan to survive a recent accidental fentanyl overdose. This comes as advocates and law enforcement continue to struggle with this growing crisis affecting families across the region.
The baby’s name is Blake, and his aunt tells KING 5 he’s been sleeping a lot since accidentally consuming the lethal drug. She’s furious, saying Child Protective Services and the state legislature allowed this to happen.
