Washington State Patrol looks for driver involved in fatal I-5 hit and run in Thurston County

The Washington State Patrol is asking the public for help identifying a driver who’s accused of running over a pedestrian on southbound Interstate 5 in Olympia last month.

The fatal hit and run occurred at about 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, just north of Sleater Kinney Road, The Olympian previously reported.

Witnesses reported the pedestrian was lying in one of the two center lanes when they were struck by a white pickup truck, according to a press memo. The driver of the white truck did not stop and continued traveling south after the collision. Following the collision, the roadway was blocked for two hours and thirty minutes…
