Garage fire in Tacoma prompts 2-alarm response, explosions reported

TACOMA, Wash. — A garage fire spread to the attic of an adjacent home and prompted a 2-alarm response from firefighters.

Firefighters responded to a house fire on 67th Avenue Northeast, south of the Madrona Park area Friday morning. Calls came in around 5:40 a.m. reporting that two houses were on fire. Upon arrival, crews found flames coming from the garage of one house, which had spread to the attic of a neighboring home.

Shortly after 6 a.m., Tacoma Fire upgraded the incident to a 2-alarm fire to bring additional resources to the scene…
