The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office and the Coroner are investigating after a man was struck and killed by a train on Durgin Road Southeast near the Thurston and Pierce county border Thursday evening.
Sheriff Derek Sanders said first responders arrived at around 6:30 p.m. to the incident. He said a 911 call came in from Amtrak stating one or two people were on the tracks, and one had been struck. The person who had been struck was dead when emergency personnel arrived…
