Attorneys ask court to free Oregon firefighter who was detained by Border Patrol

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Attorneys and legal advocates held a press conference on Friday to announce their efforts to free an Oregon firefighter who they claim was wrongfully detained by U.S. Border Patrol agents while he was fighting a wildfire in Washington back in August.

Attorneys for 23-year-old Rigoberto Hernández Hernández announced they are filing a Habeas Corpus petition and a Temporary Restraining order to get him out of the Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Tacoma.
