Bridge damage on SR 167 near Pacific closes 2 lanes for months, adding to bridge pain

PACIFIC, Wash. — Two northbound lanes on State Route 167 near Third Ave. in Pacific are closed after a bridge strike Tuesday afternoon.

The Washington State Department of Transportation said Thursday that after evaluating the damage, the girder must be replaced.

“We do know that the one girder is essentially not carrying any load anymore, which is why we have the lanes closed. We will not be able to put traffic back on that until we have completely replaced that girder,” said Brian Nielson with WSDOT…
