‘Maintenance Required’ star Madelaine Petsch credits Tacoma Arts School for career success

TACOMA, Wash. — Prime Video’s romantic comedy “Maintenance Required” debuts Wednesday featuring Madelaine Petsch, a graduate of Tacoma’s School of the Arts (SOTA), in a role that showcases her range beyond playing mean girl Cheryl Blossom on The CW’s “Riverdale.”

Petsch stars as a car mechanic running an all-female auto shop who connects online with an anonymous classic car enthusiast, played by Jacob Scipio. Their digital romance faces real-world complications when his corporate employer opens a competing garage across the street, creating an enemies-to-lovers dynamic.

“They taught me to take risks in a way that I don’t think I would have ever felt comfortable doing if I hadn’t been championed by them,” Petsch said of SOTA, where she did a dance recital for her Physics final. “I owe so much of my career to SOTA truly.”…
