TACOMA, Wash. — The man convicted of attempted murder for a February 2024 stabbing attack in Point Defiance Park is now seeking a new trial, blaming his mental health.
In August, a jury found Nicholas Matthew guilty of randomly attacking Victoria Nizzoli as she walked the park trails, stabbing her repeatedly in her head and all over her body to the point she nearly died.
