‘You guys could have not chased me:’ Parolee charged with murder for fatal Parkland crash

PARKLAND, Wash. — A man who was under supervision by the Washington Department of Corrections has been charged with murder after a deadly crash that happened during a brief chase with sheriff’s deputies in Pierce County.

Charging documents allege Donald Wayne Rownan, 47, of Forks, admitted to speeding away from a pursuing deputy because he didn’t want to go back to prison.
