A woman who had just stolen meat and kitchen items from a grocery store led a deputy on an early morning chase on Friday, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO).
Shortly before 1 a.m., a deputy saw a reckless driver heading west at 86th Ave E and 224th St E in the Elk Plain area.
When the deputy tried to pull the car over, the driver sped off and turned north on 82nd Ave E. The road sharply curves to the left there, and the fleeing car crashed into the guardrail.
