SPOKANE, Wash. — A man convicted of killing a man in Tacoma and two separate assault charges in Spokane was sentenced to life in prison without parole this week under Washington state’s “Three Strikes” law.
A Spokane County Superior Court judge sentenced 55-year-old Ian Irizarry to life in prison after he was found to be a persistent offender. State law requires courts to impose a mandatory life sentence without parole on individuals convicted of a third “most serious offense.”
