A Port Orchard woman arrested at the Silverdale Target over Thanksgiving weekend is believed to be behind repeated thefts at the store that may total over $1,400 worth of merchandise.
Charging documents filed Nov. 1 in Kitsap County Superior Court say the 53-year-old woman was allegedly recorded by store cameras nine times between August and Nov. 19 for filing a shopping cart and then rolling it through the store’s self-check area and out of the store. When she attempted to do the same on Saturday, Nov. 28, she was stopped by Target employees and held until Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived. The woman had attempted to take around $220 worth of merchandise that night, the KCSO report said, and Target employees then showed deputies a list of other thefts, with amounts and dates, and photos from each that matched the woman’s description. The amounts per theft ranged from $60 to as much as $300, and in one instance recorded three thefts from the same store in a single week…
