A 31-year-old Bonney Lake woman was declared dead at the Pierce County Jail on Friday, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Her cause of death has not been determined.
The woman was identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office as Stasha Lyn Wiltfong. A spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office, deputy Carly Cappetto, said Monday that Wiltfong was discovered in the jail’s female intake unit at 9:32 p.m. while staff were conducting cell checks.
Cappetto did not immediately have details of the woman’s condition when staff found her, or whether she was in a common area or a cell. Cappetto said staff attempted CPR and used an automated external defibrillator. Fire Department crews arrived at 9:41 p.m. and took over Wiltfong’s care, but she was pronounced dead at the jail a short time later…
