Storage facility ignites into large fire near Tacoma

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. — A large fire ignited at a storage facility in Pierce County early Friday morning, according to West Pierce Fire & Rescue.

Fire crews arrived at the Prime Storage facility at the 2400 block of 70th Avenue West in University Place at around 3:30 a.m. with flames and billowing smoke pouring out of the building.

Fire officials said that both 70th Avenue and 24th Street were closed to traffic as crews worked to extinguish the fire…
