Washington state leaders brace for budget cuts and possible new taxes amid $390M deficit

OLYMPIA, Wash. — It is going to be a busy 60 days in Olympia, a ‘short session’ kicks off Monday at noon.

At the center of it all will be talks about the state’s supplemental budget, which is used to adjust the state operating budget that now faces a multi-million dollar shortfall.
