I knew that the Broadway Neil Diamond Musical “A beautiful Noise” touring through Seattle this week was going to be a good one even before I went tonight for media night because I saw it in a few social posts from friends in Portland where it just wrapped up a few days ago. But I was absolutely blown away. I had no idea anything about Neil Diamond’s life and this musical developed this story so well. I prepped by listening to his music for the past week but I didn’t play the soundtrack for the musical so I’d be surprised a bit by the songs. Nick Fradiani the “A beautiful Noise” is playing at the Paramount theatre through January 18th.
What to expect from the Beautiful Noise Musical?
The music, the set, the costumes and the performers were all excellent for this show. There was so much energy and the songs were so good. (So good! SO GOOD!) It felt like the unicorn musicals that theatre lovers seek out for their souls where the story goes how you would want it to go, the songs get stuck in your head, your feet feel like they want to dance and everyone in the theatre is smiling around you as they leave.
The show ran about 2 hours 30 minutes including intermission (it says 2 hours 15 minutes but also it started a little late today and might have taken a bit longer to get out. I do like this length for musicals-it makes them easier to go to on a week night than an epic three hour show)…
