$300 Million Gap Delays Replacement of Bridge between Fife and Tacoma’s Dome District

The Fishing Wars Memorial Bridge will be closed longer than expected after a structural assessment found repair is not a viable option in October 2025.

The only option now is to keep it closed until the completion of phase 2 of the planned bridge replacement project, but a funding gap of $300 million means it is challenging to estimate the project’s timeline.
