The roadway near the intersection of state Route 702 and state Route 507 southeast was blocked for nearly two and a half hours during the evening of Thursday, Jan. 22, following a fatal vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision in McKenna.According to a press release from the Washington State Patrol, Ty A. Curtis, 55, of Puyallup, was biking westbound in the eastbound lanes of SR 702, just east of SR 507, and was struck by a vehicle travelling eastbound on SR 702.After the collision, the vehicle came to rest in the right shoulder of eastbound SR 702, and the bicycle came to a stop in the lane of eastbound 702. According to the Washington State Patrol, Curtis died at the scene.
