Tacoma is the state’s most confident Main Street of 2026, according to a survey conducted by financial-services company Advance Funds Network.
Many brick-and-mortar businesses are approaching the year with quiet confidence, the company said in a release. It noted the face-to-face forwardness of many businesses — a characteristic that often serves as a buffer against the broader wave of anxiety about automation and artificial intelligence.
To gauge confidence heading into 2026, Advance Funds Network surveyed 3,012 storefront business owners. Based on the findings, the 10 most confident Main Street businesses in America are:

- Fort Lauderdale
- New Orleans
- Oceanside
- Orlando
- Pasadena
- Jersey City
- Buffalo
- Hollywood, Florida
- Scottsdale
Tacoma ranked at No. 75 overall. According to the Advance Funds Network, “Tacoma storefront owners spoke about confidence built through reinvention.
