Key Peninsula Cul-De-Sac Shattered as Couple, Son and Dog Found Shot in Bedroom

A homicide investigation is underway on the Key Peninsula after a man came home from work yesterday afternoon and found his wife, their adult son, and the family dog shot to death inside the house. The man called 911 after discovering all three were unresponsive. Detectives later recovered a firearm at the scene and said there do not appear to be any other suspects as they process evidence. Officials have not released the victims’ names while they work to notify next of kin, according to information released by the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office to local media.

Deputies were dispatched at about 1:27 p.m. to the home on the Key Peninsula. KIRO 7 reports the property is near Crescent Beach Road Northwest and 73rd Street Court in Vaughn, and that deputies found the man, woman, and dog inside a bedroom. The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office is treating the deaths as a homicide.

Investigators recovered a firearm inside the residence and said the caller is cooperating with detectives, according to FOX 13 Seattle. Authorities told reporters the scene remained active for hours while detectives conducted interviews and collected evidence from inside the home.
