Motorcycle strikes bus carrying 22 high school students in Pierce County

A crash between a motorcycle and school bus in the University Place area left the motorcyclist injured Thursday morning.

Deputies were dispatched to 27th Street West after a caller reported at 7:14 a.m. that a Curtis High School bus had been struck by a motorcycle. The driver pulled out to make a left turn when the motorcyclist hit the bus, Pierce County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Carly Cappetto told The News Tribune.

The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was taken to a hospital. Emily Tencer, spokesperson for West Pierce Fire & Rescue, said the motorcyclist was in stable condition…
