Guns, fake prescriptions and 533K doses of fentanyl: Federal sweep targets Tacoma gang network

TACOMA, Wash. — Federal agents fanned out to 17 locations across Washington, Oregon and California before dawn Wednesday, arresting 14 people in what prosecutors described as a sweeping takedown of a Tacoma-based drug and gun trafficking network.

At the center of the indictment is Kevin Salgado, 27, of Puyallup, who authorities say led a criminal enterprise affiliated with the Black Gangster Disciples street gang. Prosecutors allege Salgado manufactured counterfeit oxycodone and Xanax pills, trafficked methamphetamine, fentanyl and cocaine, and distributed drugs throughout western Washington and across the country through the mail.
