‘I am no longer a person’: Video shows mass stabbing suspect’s prior run-in with police

PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — Body camera video from a prior traffic stop shows a bizarre interaction between Pierce County murder suspect Aleksandr Shablykin and police in 2022.

Earlier this week, a sheriff’s deputy shot and killed Shablykin, 32, while responding to a disturbance at a home near the town of Purdy on the Key Peninsula, where four people had been stabbed.
