Woman found dead in yard waste bin near Lake Tapps identified, tips needed in 2019 case

PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — A woman whose remains were found in a sealed yard waste bin in 2019 has been identified, and Pierce County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) detectives are seeking tips about her murder.

Her body was found Aug. 28 on a vacant property on 9th St E near Lake Tapps in Bonney Lake. The operator of an excavator working on the property noticed the container, saw the remains, and called 911.

The unidentified body was wrapped in a blanket and secured with duct tape. Her remains were listed as Jane Doe until she was identified through genetic genealogy as 60-year-old Linda Lee Schock…
