Several fires ignite overnight in Central Tacoma, multiple investigated as arson

TACOMA, Wash. — Residents in Central Tacoma are on edge after a series of fires broke out across the neighborhood on Sunday night, including two on the same residential property just hours apart.

The Tacoma Fire Department says as many as eight small fires ignited overnight. They said between 7:30 p.m. and 8:40 p.m., crews responded to about a half dozen small fires within a small area. Then between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m., firefighters put out two more small fires. The department said none of the fires caused any injuries or burned any homes or businesses.
