TACOMA, Wash. — A man is hospitalized while several cars and an apartment building were damaged after a barrage of gunfire erupted outside a Pierce County apartment complex Sunday evening, sending frightened neighbors scrambling for cover, authorities said.
Deputies responded just before 7:30 p.m. to dozens of 911 calls reporting between 20 and 70 shots fired at the Golden Given Terrace Apartments in the 1100 block of 99th Street Court East in Midland, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.
