SWAT standoff in South Tacoma ends in suspect’s surrender

A standoff involving the Tacoma Police Department’s SWAT team ended Tuesday in a man’s arrest after he refused to leave a residence in South Tacoma where he might have imprisoned a female victim, TPD Officer Shelbie Boyd told The News Tribune.

Authorities received a call around 1:30 p.m. about a “possible imprisonment” at 3900 South Tyler Street, Boyd said.
