VIDEO: Troopers track 161 mph motorcycle with Washington State Patrol plane

TACOMA, Wash. — A motorcycle rider is facing a felony charge for fleeing troopers and going 161 mph on I-5 while being tracked by a Washington State Patrol airplane.

The incident happened last week in Tacoma when the crew of the Smokey 3 airplane spotted the rider speeding.

“I knew I would need to pick it up if I was going to keep up with him,” said Trooper Nicholas Schureman, who was flying the plane at the time. “We were able to start talking to Seattle troopers, and they were able to start coming towards us to kind of get eyes on it on the ground first as well.”…
