As Florida lawmakers prepare for Friday’s final vote on the state budget, some North Florida school districts say they are already struggling to adapt to a changing education landscape shaped by enrollment declines, school choice expansion, and growing financial pressure.
For Derek Strickland, a Leon County parent with two children in public schools, the issue feels personal long before it feels political.
