Miami fans can only laugh as FSU’s 2027 recruiting class just suffered a devastating blow

Florida State’s 2027 recruiting class took a hit on Sunday when four-star safety Mekhi Williams decommitted from the Seminoles, stripping Mike Norvell’s class of its top commit and its only nationally ranked commitment in 247Sports’ own rankings.

Williams, a 6-foot-2, 160-pound safety from Lennard High School in Ruskin, Florida, had been committed to Florida State since March 2025. His exit leaves the Seminoles with seven commitments and the No. 49 class nationally per 247Sports.

It also puts major pressure on Norvell when Miami has already built one of the strongest 2027 classes in the country…
