TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A 20-year-old was sentenced to two years in prison Tuesday in connection to a Tallahassee shooting on Warwick Street in 2023 that left one injured, according to court records.
Derrick Nixon was also sentenced to four years of probation after a judge classified him as a youthful offender, the court documents revealed. At the time of the shooting, Nixon was 17 years old.
He pleaded no contest to attempted murder and attempted armed robbery for his role in the shooting that initially left five teens, including Nixon, behind bars in 2023.
The other suspects included an unnamed 16-year-old, as well as Antwann Thomas, JaLan Thompson and Willie Merritt II, who were all 18 at the time of the shooting, WCTV previously reported.
