PFAS study highlights other potential sources as Woodville investigation continues

The search for what is contaminating private wells in Woodville with elevated levels of PFAS is continuing, with environmental advocates and city officials pointing to different possible sources.

For months, questions have surrounded PFAS detected in some Woodville private wells. While there is agreement that contamination exists, there is still debate over where it is coming from.

Retired Environmental Health Science Professor, Dr. Donald Axelrad, said he believes Tallahassee’s Southeast Spray Field remains a strong possibility. “It’s not a matter of blame.
