TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Tallahassee man is facing a slew of charges, including Grand Theft, after allegedly stealing checks from his former employer and another business.
According to arrest documents, Chad Wax is facing 42 charges, including 11 counts of depositing item with intent to defraud, four counts of grand theft over $5,000 but less than $10,000 and one count of organized scheme to defraud.
Arrest papers show Wax allegedly stole checks from his former employer. The victim told police his bank notified him of the forged checks. Wax was fired as a result of the incident. The victim said he did not know how many checks Wax could have taken since he started working at the business in April.
The victim also claims other items had been stolen from the business, including a safe, the cash drawer and over $10,000. Arrest documents allege the business’s security footage showed Wax in the business the night of the incident…
