TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Another day of showers and some thunderstorms is on the way for your Sunday. Be sure to have the raincoat handy throughout the day.
FLOOD WATCH: Coastal counties are still expected to see higher totals today, but the flood watch has been expanded inland, north to I-10, after yesterday’s heavy rainfall in Gadsden County.
While the flood watch area has the HIGHEST chance of flooding rain, anywhere in South Georgia or North Florida has a small chance of localized flooding through early this week as several rounds of rain continue.
Additional rain totals between 1 and 3 inches in South Georgia and the northern Big Bend. The Southeast Big Bend could see an additional 3 to 6 inches through tomorrow.
The heavy rain could lead to flash flooding this weekend. If it has been raining for hours, it will be best to stay inside and avoid driving. If you are in a vehicle, avoid driving over flooded roads because you never know how deep it is.
Timing out Sunday showers
Several rounds of showers and storms are expected. While I do not expect a constant rain on Sunday, there are going to be several hours of rain.
If you live in South Georgia, showers and storms will be on and off throughout the day. You may be able to get to church just fine without a drop of rain, while others will be facing a downpour. Be sure to check radar frequently and grab the rain jacket if you are going to be out and about. The heaviest rain for you will be in the morning through early afternoon…
