The Tallahassee Fire Department knocked down a large house fire Monday evening.
Firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the building in the 1700 block of Mahan Drive around 4 p.m., according to a TFD social media update.
“TFD personnel began a defensive attack while protecting surrounding areas,” TFD said in a social media update. No one was in the building when the fire broke out, but one firefighter was injured while on scene.
The Tallahassee Police Department, Leon County EMS and Great Southern Demolition assisted. The State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire.
