Woman found bleeding in car in Tallahassee’s third shooting in 48 hours

A woman has been hospitalized with serious injuries after she was shot in south Tallahassee Friday evening ‒ the third shooting in a 48-hour span.

Police responded to the 500 block of Castlewood Drive at about 8:30 p.m. and found the woman inside of a vehicle, a Tallahassee Police Department watch commander told the Democrat.

Officers at the scene immediately provided lifesaving aid and the woman was transported to the hospital.

The extent of her injuries are unclear and police were on the scene investigating.

No other details were available.

“There’s no indication of an active threat to the community or anything like that,” the watch commander said. “It’s early in the investigation and we’re trying to piece together what happened.”

A resident posted photos of the scene on Facebook and said the shooting occurred outside of a church. She noted they had to lock people in the church as police blocked roads and investigated. Those inside the church reported hearing multiple gunshots, with one woman saying she heard at least eight shots, according to WCTV.
