Tallahassee Fire Department battles two fires, two hours apart

The Tallahassee Fire Department fought two separate fires Wednesday, just hours apart, according to a news release.

Firefighters arrived within five minutes of being called to a single-story house in the 800 block of Dunn Street around 10 a.m. “with heavy fire showing,” according to TFD.

The fire was quickly knocked down, and there were no injuries. The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.

Then, just after 12:30 p.m., firefighters responded to another blaze in the 1400 block of North Duval Street.

Heavy smoke and fire was coming from a single-story home. Everyone was already out of the home by the time TFD arrived, the news release said.

“One occupant was checked on scene for minor burns,” it said. “The cause of the fire appears to be electrical.”

The Tallahassee Police Department, City of Tallahassee Utilities and Leon County EMS assisted.
