The Leon County Government and the Tallahassee-Leon County Office of Economic Vitality have opened registration for the ninth annual Leon Works Expo. The event is scheduled for Friday, April 12, at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center. Interested businesses can register on the Leon County website by Sunday, March 31.

The Expo aims to connect students with businesses, offering networking and educational opportunities. It will host high school students from the Big Bend region and a variety of employers and organizations. Students will have the chance to explore careers in trade, business, information technology, creative, and health sectors.

The Expo will also feature local success stories and allow students to interact with employers. Since 2015, the event has focused on educating students about careers that require more than a high school diploma but less than a 4-year degree.

By 2026, Leon County and the surrounding region will have over 70,000 jobs that fit this educational requirement. These jobs will offer average wages over $20 per hour. The Expo serves as a platform for students to learn about these careers and meet potential employers.
