Florida man arrested after allegedly leading deputies on a UTV pursuit

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Fla. ( WMBB ) – On Wednesday, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man after they say he led law enforcement on a UTV pursuit.

Deputies identified 44-year-old, Andy Joe Tipton, of Monticello as the driver.

Around 4:30 p.m., WCSO deputies were patrolling the area of Caroline Dr. near Greenhead, Florida. Deputies observed a small blue UTV traveling towards them, they signaled him to stop, but he looked and continued traveling. Officials said Tipton made a U-turn and accelerated the UTV as he continued past deputies a second time. Deputies later observed Tipton traveling eastbound on Carter Circle almost colliding with a deputy, officials wrote in a news release.
