FSU knocks Virginia out of ACC Championship

CHARLOTTE, NC (CBS19 SPORTS)– For the third year in a row the Cavaliers were knocked out of the ACC Championship just one game short of the semifinals. The Cavaliers jumped out first thanks to a RBI double up the right field line from Bobby Whalen. The lead was short lived though as FSU plated two runs in the next frame. FSU then added more insurance to take a 4-1 lead. Momentum once again swayed in Virginia’s favor as Griff O’Ferrall belted a lead off homerun to make it a 4-2 ball game.
