Greg McElroy Calls Out National Championship Contender For ‘Ugly’ Start in 2024

The Michigan Wolverines, Florida State Seminoles and Oregon Ducks have not achieved their potential in 2024. The only difference is that Oregon is 2-0, Michigan is 1-1, and Florida State is 0-2.

The Ducks have narrowly escaped losses in their first two games. In Week 1, Oregon was up 14-0 against the Idaho Vandals at halftime. The offense then stalled out and did not score another touchdown until late in the fourth quarter to secure a 24-14 win.

Oregon scored plenty of points against the Boise State Broncos in Week 2. However, the Ducks’ defense allowed the Boise State offense to score 34 points, and they needed overtime to escape Eugune with a 37-34 win.

Greg McElroy had some harsh words for Oregon in a recent ” Always College Football ” episode. McElroy called Oregon’s 2-0 start to the year “ugly” and was unsure if a team could have had a less impressive opening to the season.

“Speaking of ugly, Oregon, they’re 2-0, but I’m not sure you can have a less impressive start to the season,” McElroy said. “A season that’s expected to contend for a new championship in a new league. A season that’s expected to contend for a potential national championship. All that stuff is great, but man, they got issues right now.”
