Texas Projected to Land Another Former Florida State Commit

On3 Vice President and National College Football Recruiting and Transfer Portal analyst Steve Wiltfong projected on Monday morning that four-star edge rusher Javion Hilson will commit to Texas with a confidence level of 50%.

Hilson, a premier edge rusher in the class of 2025, announced his de-commitment from Florida State on Sunday afternoon, reopening his recruiting to the likes of Texas, UCF, Florida, Georgia and Alabama, among others.

Now, with Florida State limping to a disappointing 0-2 start, including two conference losses, On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine lists an 85.3% chance that Hilson will commit to Texas , which he officially visited on June 7, 2024. No other school is listed with a chance above 5% by On3.

Hilson verbally committed to the Crimson Tide in December 2023 but de-committed in mid-January 2024 following the retirement of legendary Head Coach Nick Saban, verbally committing to the Seminoles on the same day.
