Georgia Bulldogs and Kirby Smart trying to flip elite wide receiver recruit before they face off against Alabama

One of the most highly coveted recruits in the nation surprised the college football media world when he chose to commit to Florida State this summer instead of Georgia or LSU. Heading into his announcement many in the industry thought surely CJ Wiley–an elite four star wide receiver from Milton, Georgia–would be heading to the SEC. Instead he chose Florida State and Mike Norvell.

However, Georgia and Kirby Smart haven’t given up on Wiley’s recruitment since June when he made his commitment. And since Florida State has continued to struggle immensely early this season many have begun to wonder if Wiley would change his mind. Smart hasn’t been shy about his continued interest and pursuit of Wiley for months now. And as he made clear in media availability this week Smart is taking time to spend on recruiting during the bye week before facing off against Alabama.

According to multiple sources (and reported first by Rusty Mansell of On3 Sports) Smart will be visiting CJ Wiley this weekend, hoping to flip him to Georgia.
